Hello and Welcome! 

I originally started this website as a means to document a year's leave of absence and practice my writing skills.  Over time, this site has developed into an opportunity for me to document my life through my photographs and writing.   I've enjoyed watching this project evolve and grow overtime, and I hope it continues as I return to teaching full-time.

During my year away from teaching, I discovered a true appreciation for birding and photography.  This website has afforded me a great opportunity to share these interests with you.  I hope you enjoy perusing the site and please feel free to comment and assist me with my bird (and any other flora or fauna) identification.

​I also hope to continue to experiment with my writing and including more outdoor stories  for you enjoyment.

In addition to all of that, I have now drastically changed my life an uprooted myself from a home and job that I have had for decades.  I am now a proud resident of Colorado's Grand Valley where I live in the town of Battlement Mesa.  This is where you will be seeing a majority of my photos taken from now on.
